Tim Hortons restaurant owners and millions of generous Canadians across the country together broke a new Smile Cookie record by raising $10.56 million for local charities across the country.

This year in Brantford, local Tim Horton’s restaurant owners and guests helped raise $106,875.60 to be shared equally between co-recipients Brant Food For Thought and Lansdowne Children’s Centre. Local Tim Hortons owners have been supporting the campaign for years, with a record breaking campaign in 2019, and this year’s campaign exceeding previous year’s results by more than $9,700. The funds will be used to support various programs for children and youth in this community.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen this year as a recipient of Smile Cookie 2020. The generosity of this community is astounding, particularly as it relates to supporting its most vulnerable—our children and youth,” says Brant Food For Thought Program Director, Gisèle Budgell.  “Thank you Tim Hortons owners and everyone who supported the campaign for contributing to a child’s ability to learn through school nutrition programs. We’re feeding student success together!”

Angee Turnbull, from Lansdowne Children’s Centre Foundation says,” We were thrilled to be named one of the Charities of Choice for this year’s Smile Cookie program. Our Lansdowne Children’s Centre Foundation continues to raise funds for our programs that really help each child with special needs reach their optimal potential. The Centre is currently is providing care and support for over 3000 children, with 2200 children from our community on our waitlist.  A sincere and heartfelt thank you to our local Tim Horton’s owners; you really gave us a reason to smile.”
